Most Valuable Pirate: Brock Sousa, HHS Special Services/Off-Campus Coordinator at Hannibal High School!

Mr. Sousa's nominator shared, "Brock’s impact extends well beyond his classroom responsibilities. He consistently ensures students have access to the resources, guidance, and support they need to succeed in school and in life. His passion for helping others and his ability to connect students with meaningful opportunities leave a lasting mark on our school and community."

Our first Teacher MVP is Jake Greving , Assistant Principal at Hannibal High School!

HHS Assistant Principal, and Pirate Pride Drive Crossing Guard, Jake Greving was struck by a vehicle while on duty the morning of September 12. In that moment, Mr. Greving’s selflessness showed: he moved students out of harm’s way before thinking of himself. No students were injured, and we are grateful the situation wasn’t more serious.

Because of his swift, student-first action and his everyday dedication, Mr. Greving is this month’s Teacher MVP—Most Valuable Pirate, presented by a student he protected. He is also the recipient of the the inaugural Mayor’s Community Champion Award from Hannibal Mayor Darrell McCoy- an honor designed to recognize citizens who make Hannibal great through courage, service, and heart.
